Room Dining Order Taker

About the role

The Order Taker in Room Dining provides telephone support for guests ordering room service, ensuring accurate order entry, timely delivery, and a high level of guest satisfaction within a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take room service orders over the phone and record transactions in the MICROS system.
• Answer guest questions about menu items, wine selections, and dietary requirements.
• Communicate special requests, allergies, and dietary needs to the kitchen staff.
• Notify guests and management of any delays in service delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area throughout the shift.
• Process all payment methods and complete closing MICROS reports.
• Follow company safety, security, and uniform policies.
• Provide courteous, professional telephone etiquette and assist guests with disabilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 lb.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MICROS point‑of‑sale system.
