Safety Officer

About the role

The Safety Officer will be based on‑site at APICO’s Jeddah plant, overseeing daily health and safety activities in a fast‑moving plastics manufacturing environment. This full‑time position ensures compliance with Saudi regulations, company policies, and promotes a proactive safety culture across all shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety inspections and identify workplace hazards.
• Develop, implement, and update safety procedures and emergency response plans.
• Lead accident and incident investigations, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate risk assessments and safety audits in collaboration with operations and maintenance teams.
• Organise and deliver engaging safety training sessions for diverse employee groups.
• Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, and reporting.
• Work closely with security personnel to ensure secure and safe plant operations.

Required profile

• Relevant diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably plastics or packaging.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work on‑site in Jeddah across different shifts.
• Saudi nationality.
