Senior Chief Engineering Manager – Civil & Structural (Substations)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Chief Engineering Manager to lead the Civil & Structural engineering function for substation and special projects within the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) sector. The role involves overseeing design, execution, and delivery of safe, cost-effective engineering solutions across multiple international locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of lead engineers, design engineers and drafting staff, defining strategy and allocating resources.
• Oversee preparation, validation and issuance of civil & structural designs, drawings and BOQs for substations, foundations, buildings and related structures.
• Ensure compliance with international codes (IEC, ACI, ASTM) and local regulations while driving value engineering and cost optimisation.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning, addressing IFC drawing queries and on‑site issues.
• Establish robust quality assurance processes, identify technical risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, statutory authorities and internal functions to secure approvals and resolve design concerns.
• Promote digital engineering practices and adoption of modern tools.

Required profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in Civil & Structural Engineering (post‑graduation in Structural/Geotechnical preferred).
• 20‑25 years of experience in civil & structural design for T&D projects, with at least 8‑10 years in senior leadership.
• Proven ability to manage large, multi‑disciplinary teams and deliver projects on schedule.
