Senior Director – Commercial (Sports BU)

About the role

The Senior Director – Commercial leads the commercial strategy and governance for all Sports Business Unit (BU) projects at Qiddiya Investment Company. Reporting to the Executive Director – Sports BU DMO, the role ensures alignment with QIC’s commercial strategy, procurement framework, and ethical standards while driving transparent, disciplined decision‑making throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide enterprise‑level oversight of commercial activities across Sports BU assets from development through delivery.
• Align commercial actions with cost‑planning processes and support budget management for the BU and DFA.
• Monitor project financial performance, including costs, expenditures, and revenue forecasts.
• Establish and track budgets, forecasts, and cash‑flow in coordination with project commercial teams.
• Ensure compliance with Qiddiya Investment Company procurement policies and manage engagement of consultants and contractors.
• Oversee tendering, bid evaluation, and award recommendations.
• Lead contract drafting, negotiation, execution, administration, and dispute resolution.
• Maintain robust governance and documentation for all contractual matters.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to Sports BU strategy, policy development, and team leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Control, Commercial Management or a related field.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in construction or sports‑development, including at least 5 years in a senior managerial role.
• Relevant professional certifications such as RIBA, RICS, CMA.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Oracle financial systems.
• Experience using SAP for cost and contract management.
• Knowledge of Prism reporting tools.
