Senior Legal Associate – Maritime & Business Law

About the role

The Senior Legal Associate will provide comprehensive legal support to Zamil Offshore Services Company, ensuring compliance with maritime and business regulations while protecting the company’s reputation and interests. This role works closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies on a wide range of legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on maritime regulations, environmental standards, and related compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with shipowners, insurers, and regulatory agencies to manage licenses, attestations, and insurance claims.
• Draft, review, and negotiate maritime contracts such as charter parties, bills of lading, and service agreements.
• Prepare legal opinions, memoranda, and documentation for Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assembly meetings.
• Support contract qualification, negotiation, execution, and claims management across business units.
• Conduct legal research on maritime laws, conventions, and industry practices.
• Liaise with government authorities (Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Commerce, courts, chambers of commerce) to secure and update required documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• 3‑5 years of experience in Business Law, Maritime Law, or a related legal field.
• Hands‑on experience in contract management, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering contracts.
• Familiarity with international maritime conventions and regulations is preferred.
• Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and communication abilities.
