Senior Loss Prevention Engineer (Offshore)

About the role

Penspen, an energy services company providing engineering, project management, asset management and integrity services to the energy industry, is hiring a Senior Loss Prevention Engineer for its offshore projects in Khafji, Saudi Arabia. The engineer reports to the FEED/Technical Leader in the Core Technical team, or to the Project Head/Senior Project Engineer in the PMT teams, and liaises with other disciplines in the respective team.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure Pre-FEED/EPC preliminary hazard assessment recommendations are included in FEED/EPC deliverables.
• Check, review and approve all technical safety deliverables from the FEED/EPC contractor.
• Review and approve fire water network calculations and fire water demand.
• Review and approve fire and gas detection systems.
• Review and approve passive fire protection systems.
• Review and approve fire water tanks, pumps and water mist systems.

Required profile

• At least 12 years of experience, including 6 years in safety or loss prevention on major oil and gas/petrochemical projects or closely related ones; PMC experience at a similar role for several years is preferable.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of Saudi Aramco desktop standards and procedures is beneficial; exposure to construction and commissioning phases is beneficial but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Computer literacy with MS Office packages, especially Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards and procedures is beneficial.
