Senior System Administrator

About the role

Gulfmedical is looking for a Senior System Administrator based in Jeddah, with flexibility to travel between branches inside and outside Saudi Arabia. The role covers the administration, security and upkeep of the company's server infrastructure, together with helpdesk support for end users.

Key responsibilities

• Manage virtual and physical servers running Windows or Red Hat/Linux (preferred)
• Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, and patching and updates of servers and workstations
• Implement security best practices covering privacy, security and regulatory compliance
• Maintain documentation of the environment, standard operating procedures and best practices
• Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights and storage allocations
• Perform and test routine system backups and restores
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on servers and workstations and escalate incidents when needed
• Manage server assets, including component inventory and technical specifications
• Schedule and carry out software and hardware upgrades, patches and reconfigurations
• Prepare reports for business users and management
• Manage vendors, outsourcers and contractors for software products and services
• Manage server rack environments, including cabling, labelling and KVM configuration
• Build and deploy new servers, and support other IT engineers with helpdesk and end-user tasks

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an IT field
• Preferred certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE; Microsoft Certified System Administrator; Red Hat Linux Administrator; Office 365 Certified; Azure Administration Certified; CCNA Security or another security certificate

Required skills

• Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, MS SQL Server, Windows clustering, domain controllers and group policy
• Familiarity with routing and switching, SD-WAN, Cisco collaboration (audio/video), firewall configuration, NAS and SAN storage
