Systems Engineering Engineer - HVAC

About the role

Carrier is looking for an experienced Systems Engineering Engineer in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to support HVAC product development, system optimization and localization initiatives across the Middle East. The role adapts globally designed HVAC systems to regional manufacturing capabilities, market needs, environmental conditions and regulatory standards, working with regional and global engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform HVAC system design simulations, heat transfer calculations and engineering analyses to assess performance and find improvements.
• Support the development, localization and enhancement of residential and light commercial HVAC products through prototyping, testing and technical evaluation.
• Contribute to localizing globally developed HVAC systems in Middle East manufacturing facilities.
• Support engineering programs, technical workshops and cost leadership initiatives, and take part in value engineering and cost optimization projects.
• Run product benchmarking using catalogue references, physical comparisons and teardowns to find performance gaps.
• Evaluate engineering alternatives on performance, cost, risk, reliability, manufacturability and serviceability.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and Carrier's global engineering processes.
• Analyze engineering data, write technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Identify technical risks, delays and cost overruns and propose solutions with cross-functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in the HVAC industry, preferably in R&D, NPD, product engineering or system engineering.
• Practical experience in HVAC product development, system testing or manufacturing support.
• Experience with engineering analysis, thermal calculations, simulation or product optimization.
• Strong written and verbal English; preferred: exposure to Middle East and Africa HVAC markets and familiarity with AHRI, Eurovent, SASO and MoIAT standards.

Required skills

• HVAC and refrigeration systems knowledge, including product development, testing and manufacturing.
• Mechanical design and simulation tools such as Creo, CFD software and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of heat transfer principles and product design fundamentals.
• Technical reporting, problem solving and teamwork across regional and global teams.
