Technical Head - Rail Control System

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Head – Railway Control Systems to provide strategic and technical leadership across our Middle East business, working closely with clients on railway programmes. The role drives high‑quality consultancy services in communications, control, signalling, systems integration and operational control while fostering innovation and business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the trusted technical authority and SME, guiding clients and internal teams on complex rail control system solutions.
• Lead the development and oversight of system architecture, integration strategies and operational concepts for ETCS, ERTMS, CBTC and related technologies.
• Manage delivery of multidisciplinary rail projects, ensuring scope, schedule, cost and quality excellence and compliance with assurance, approvals and certification requirements.
• Drive business development by leading technical and commercial bids, preparing feasibility studies and strengthening client relationships.
• Promote innovation through digital, communication and advanced control technologies, supporting smart mobility, data‑driven systems and automation.
• Mentor and develop engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in rail systems, including high‑speed, conventional and metro projects.
• Proven leadership of complex, multidisciplinary rail projects and senior stakeholder management.
• Experience with assurance, approvals and certification processes, and management of equipment suppliers.
• Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant professional institution.
