Accountant – General Ledger & Treasury

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to oversee the integrity of our general ledger and treasury operations. The role ensures compliance with FCA regulations and standard accounting practices while supporting cash management and fixed‑asset reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Control and maintain the integrity of general accounts in line with FCA requirements and standard accounting practices.
• Review cashier activities and perform checks and balances as needed.
• Oversee treasury functions, including accounting for money transfers, bank charges, remittances, wire and telex payments, and ensure accuracy before reporting to the Chief General Accountant.
• Conduct internal audits to verify control procedures and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform monthly bank and affiliate reconciliations, addressing any irregularities.
• Maintain a monthly trial balance audit file to confirm accurate balances.
• Manage filing and follow‑up on subsidy applications and refunds.
• Prepare monthly fixed‑asset acquisition reports for the Accounting Manager.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of FCA regulations and standard accounting principles.
• Experience with general ledger maintenance, cash and treasury operations.
• Proven ability to conduct internal audits and implement corrective measures.
• Competence in monthly bank reconciliations and trial balance verification.
• Attention to detail in handling subsidy applications, refunds, and fixed‑asset reporting.
