Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer

About the role

Andritz is seeking an Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer to join its Saudi Arabia team. You will work with multidisciplinary project groups to deliver advanced automation and digitalisation solutions, focusing on model predictive control, real‑time optimisation and digital twins for complex industrial plants.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse operating processes to identify optimisation, efficiency and variability reduction opportunities.
• Design, configure and tune multivariable predictive controllers and associated control parameters.
• Develop and validate dynamic process models using plant data and first‑principles simulation techniques.
• Collect, analyse and interpret engineering and operational data to support model development and optimisation strategies.
• Collaborate with control‑room operators, process engineers and instrumentation teams during commissioning, start‑up and control‑response testing.
• Provide troubleshooting support for deployed APC applications and execute simulation and acceptance testing for large‑scale optimisation projects.
• Monitor application performance, recommend continuous improvements and maintain technical documentation such as control strategies, test plans and commissioning reports.
• Support proposal development and identify opportunities for expanded automation and digitalisation solutions while adhering to safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of experience in process control, automation or related engineering fields.
• Strong technical background with the ability to work in dynamic project environments.
• Commitment to safety standards and a proactive safety culture.
