Architect of Record (AOR) – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

About the role

This is a hands‑on position for an experienced Architect to act as the Architect of Record (AOR) on major projects in Saudi Arabia. The role bridges the design team, clients, consultants and Saudi authorities to ensure compliance with local regulations and professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Architect of Record across major projects in Saudi Arabia.
• Review architectural designs and documentation for compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and municipal requirements.
• Prepare AOR reports throughout project design stages.
• Manage authority submissions, building permits and approvals.
• Liaise directly with municipalities, regulatory authorities and government entities.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP and other engineering disciplines to ensure technical and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical and regulatory guidance to project and design teams.
• Support proposal, pre‑qualification and tender activities requiring Saudi regulatory knowledge.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 6 years of architectural experience, preferably within the Saudi market.
• Registered/licensed to practise in Saudi Arabia with accreditation for AOR responsibilities.
• Proven experience with authority submissions and regulatory approvals.
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code, municipal regulations and approval processes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and technical reporting skills; English required, Arabic advantageous.
