Associate Director – Fire & Life Safety

About the role

WSP is looking for an experienced Associate Director to lead its Fire & Life Safety team in Dubai. You will shape complex fire safety strategies for major infrastructure and building projects, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage multidisciplinary Fire & Life Safety projects from concept to completion.
• Develop performance‑based fire design solutions and comprehensive fire strategy reports.
• Conduct onsite inspections to verify adherence to fire strategies during construction.
• Coordinate with approving authorities and present compliance documentation.
• Review material submittals, shop drawings and BIM models (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit) for fire safety integration.
• Interpret CFD modeling results (1D/3D) to assess engineering solutions.
• Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Manage multiple projects while complying with Quality Management System policies.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in fire and life safety engineering.
• Strong commercial and technical acumen with client‑facing responsibilities.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality design reports aligned with IFEG, SFPE and local codes.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
