AVP AML Support & Effectiveness

About the role

The Assistant Vice President – AML Support & Effectiveness will lead the development, monitoring and continuous improvement of the bank's anti‑money laundering (AML) and counter‑terrorism financing (CTF) framework. Reporting to the Head of AML & CTF, the role ensures policies, procedures and operational activities remain aligned with Saudi regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on creating and updating comprehensive Support and Effectiveness Unit policies and procedures.
• Review AML periodical reports, bank‑wide awareness messages and correspondent‑bank questionnaire responses for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct quality checks and regular reviews of AML units, branches and departments, documenting findings and ensuring corrective actions.
• Manage periodic risk assessments, AML system reviews, and enhancements to detect suspicious activity.
• Prepare managerial and board reports, including field‑visit reports and activity summaries required by SAMA.
• Supervise internal and external audit closure, ensuring deficiencies are addressed within timelines.
• Drive AML compliance culture through training, awareness programs and KPI monitoring.
• Design enhanced due‑diligence measures for high‑risk customers, including PEPs and correspondent banking relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AML and CTF compliance within a banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) regulations and reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise teams, manage projects and coordinate cross‑functional reviews.
• Excellent analytical skills for risk assessment, policy updates and audit follow‑up.
