Back End Operator

About the role

The Back End Operator works on the can‑manufacturing line, ensuring smooth operation of back‑end equipment, maintaining product quality, and upholding safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor back‑end machinery such as flangers, neckers, seamers and packers.
• Perform routine equipment checks and adjustments to keep machines running optimally.
• Watch production lines for defects, jams or anomalies and take corrective action.
• Conduct quality inspections of finished cans to verify they meet specifications.
• Load and unload materials and products on the line.
• Maintain accurate production records and log sheets.
• Follow all safety regulations and procedures.
• Execute basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to improve production flow and efficiency.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with machinery operation.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot product defects.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Capacity to work in a fast‑paced setting and stand for long periods.
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and record‑keeping.
• Physical ability to lift and move items up to 25 kg.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
