Category Manager – Grocery & Fresh Foods

About the role

We are looking for a self‑starter to lead the launch of Amazon’s new grocery business in the MENA region. The Category Manager will own the end‑to‑end development of a fresh‑food category, building vendor relationships, shaping the buying strategy and driving profitable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the sourcing and pricing strategy for the fresh/frozen grocery category.
• Identify, negotiate and manage relationships with external vendors to build seasonal and long‑term selection.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including marketing, supply chain, legal and operations to ensure seamless execution.
• Monitor category performance metrics, analyse data and implement improvements.
• Develop SOPs for scaling the business and support the Category Leader on strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
• Strong business judgment with a track record of successful project delivery and commercial negotiations.
• Excellent analytical and written communication skills.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
