Collections Manager

About the role

The Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing the recovery of overdue and high‑value accounts across the health portfolio. Working closely with the Credit Control Department, the role focuses on negotiating payment arrangements, resolving disputes and ensuring compliance with legal and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the collection process for the overall health portfolio, conducting detailed aging analysis to identify overdue receivables.
• Set and communicate collection targets, provide strategic input and monitor progress toward financial goals.
• Ensure timely and accurate collection of payments from clients, brokers, and sales agencies, adhering to agreed schedules.
• Support key‑account regions by guiding collection officers and facilitating timely recovery.
• Contribute to cash‑flow forecasting and drive positive cash‑flow outcomes.
• Maintain professional client relationships and uphold high standards of collector conduct.
• Achieve monthly collection and productivity targets while supporting the team in calls, visits and meetings.
• Handle reconciliation issues, follow‑up actions and review team performance for incentive purposes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing collections or credit control, preferably with complex, high‑value debts.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess payment trends and aging reports.
• Excellent negotiation and dispute‑resolution skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining professionalism.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, legal requirements and internal policy compliance.
