Construction Director - Major Infrastructure Program

About the role

KBR is recruiting a Project - Construction Director for a major mixed-use infrastructure programme in Riyadh, which aims to become a global landmark. The project is a self-sustaining community with several iconic assets, and KBR provides PMO services, enterprise-level governance, assurance, integration and performance oversight. Reporting to the Programme Director, the Construction Director oversees projects from pre-award to post-contract award within a matrix PMO organisation, managing a masterplan for executive commercial, planning and risk reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversight and coordination with project management consultants (PMCs) to set up and govern standard reporting on quality, commercial, planning, quality and safety
• Validate progress through pre- and post-contract stage gates and earned progress against baseline schedules
• Coordinate PMCs on project cost reports, annual programme budgets and monthly cash flow reports
• Take part in value engineering proposals and identify scope risks and stakeholder risks, including third-party coordination
• Support portfolio-wide risk management, forecasts of milestone completion and the Approvals Register
• Work with PMCs on health, safety, environmental and quality compliance, and on completion, take-over certificates and defects liability period
• Manage operational readiness, asset transfer and defects liability period, and facilitate knowledge transfer to the client and PMCs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in construction management engineering or architecture
• PMI-PMP, Professional Engineer, or Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, or equivalent
• At least 15 years of experience managing major civil, infrastructure and development programmes
• At least 3 years as Project Director or Construction Director
• Strong commitment to health, safety, environment and quality; analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written English
