Consultant Cardiac Transplant Physician Riyadh

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Consultant Cardiac Transplant Physician to join a leading tertiary‑care hospital in Riyadh. The role involves delivering expert care across the full transplant pathway, from patient evaluation to long‑term graft follow‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients with advanced heart failure and those requiring transplantation.
• Conduct pre‑transplant evaluations, listing decisions, and comprehensive post‑transplant follow‑up.
• Develop and oversee immunosuppression protocols, rejection surveillance, and infection‑prevention strategies.
• Evaluate suitability for mechanical circulatory support devices such as LVAD and ECMO.
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and transplant coordinators.
• Participate in transplant selection committees, quality‑improvement projects, and academic activities.
• Contribute to teaching, research, and mentorship within the department.

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent qualification.
• Board certification in cardiology or internal medicine with subspecialty training in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation.
• Fellowship from a recognized international transplant centre.
• Minimum 3–5 years post‑fellowship experience in cardiac transplant medicine.
• Strong knowledge of ISHLT, ACC/AHA and other international transplant guidelines.
• Excellent clinical, communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
