Consultant Neonatologist (NICU)

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Neonatologist to join a leading healthcare organization in Saudi Arabia. You will provide expert care to critically ill and premature newborns in a state‑of‑the‑art NICU, working within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advanced neonatal services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for premature, critically ill, and high‑risk newborns, diagnosing and managing conditions such as respiratory distress, sepsis, congenital anomalies, and metabolic disorders.
• Perform advanced neonatal procedures including resuscitation, endotracheal intubation, umbilical line placement, central venous access, and ventilator management.
• Lead emergency response and stabilization in delivery rooms and NICU, develop individualized treatment plans, and ensure compliance with protocols and infection‑prevention measures.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff; supervise and mentor junior physicians and NICU nurses.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, quality‑improvement initiatives, clinical audits, research activities, and maintain accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and Board Certification in Pediatrics.
• Fellowship or subspecialty certification in Neonatology/Neonatal‑Perinatal Medicine.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Consultant Neonatologist in a Level III/IV NICU.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, leadership, communication skills, and eligibility for Saudi Commission for Health Specialties licensure.
