Contracts Engineer

About the role
WSP is looking for an experienced Contracts Engineer to join its Site Supervision team in Jeddah. The role will support major transport, road and infrastructure utilities projects, handling contract administration, commercial compliance and variation management throughout project delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Administer construction contracts in line with project requirements and contract conditions.
- Review, evaluate and process variations, change orders, claims and extension of time submissions.
- Support the Resident Engineer and Project Director on contractual and commercial matters.
- Prepare contractual correspondence, notices, recommendations and reports.
- Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations and project deliverables.
- Review payment applications and provide contractual input on assessments.
- Maintain records of contractual communications, instructions and project changes.
- Assist in resolving contractual disputes and support claim evaluations.
- Identify commercial and contractual risks and propose mitigation measures.
- Coordinate with project controls, quantity surveying and supervision teams to ensure consistency in commercial management.
- Provide contract administration support throughout construction and close‑out phases.
- Participate in meetings with clients, stakeholders and contractors regarding contractual matters.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in contract administration and commercial management.
- Strong experience on transport, roads, highways, utilities and infrastructure projects.
- Background working for engineering or supervision consultants on major infrastructure projects.
- Extensive experience within Saudi Arabia, preferably on projects in Jeddah, Riyadh or other major KSA locations.
- Professional certifications and membership of relevant institutions are an advantage.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of FIDIC and other internationally recognised contract forms.
- Expertise in contract administration, variation and claim management.
