Cost Accountant

About the role

The Cost Accountant will support the financial and operational performance of a not‑for‑profit organization by analysing production and service costs, preparing accurate cost reports, and recommending cost‑efficiency measures. The role combines detailed cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting to enable data‑driven decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse actual production costs and compare them with standard costs, preparing periodic variance reports.
• Record and allocate cost information to control expenditures and support pricing decisions.
• Prepare costing sheets (landed cost) for foreign purchase orders and manage insurance files with monthly declarations.
• Conduct monthly closing activities, including cost statements, journal entries, and inventory reconciliations.
• Monitor inventory transactions, reconcile accounts with the general ledger, and lead inventory review processes.
• Develop and deliver monthly financial and operational reports for executive leadership.
• Provide insights on profitability, pricing factors, and overall plant efficiency.
• Initiate, plan, execute, and close projects, establishing metrics and measurement systems.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the NFP business environment and internal policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collect, analyse, and report data from multiple sources.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities to manage short‑ and long‑term objectives.
• Proficiency in using standard office equipment, automation systems, and accounting software.
• Fluency in national and foreign languages, both spoken and written.
