Cost Control Engineer

About the role

A leading real estate development company operating in the property industry in Riyadh is looking for a permanent Cost Control Engineer. The engineer manages cost information for property projects so the business can monitor spending and make informed decisions, working within the Property department to keep clear cost records and report on project financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and maintain the project cost control system in line with the approved project budget.
• Monitor expenditures, commitments and cost performance against approved budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare and update cost reports, cash flow forecasts, cost curves and financial dashboards for management review.
• Coordinate with Planning Engineers to link project progress with cost performance and earned value analysis.
• Review and verify subcontractor payment applications, procurement commitments and cost allocations.
• Prepare budget revisions, cost forecasts and estimate-at-completion (EAC) reports throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify cost overruns, financial risks and budget deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the evaluation of variation orders, claims and change orders from a cost impact perspective.
• Work with Procurement, Contracts, Finance and Construction teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
• Monitor contingency utilisation and ensure proper cost coding and allocation.
• Assist in preparing monthly management reports, project financial summaries and executive cost presentations.
• Maintain accurate cost records and comply with company procedures and project contractual requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as PMP, CCP (Certified Cost Professional) or equivalent is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of cost management principles and project controls.
