Cost Controller Intern

About the role

The Cost Controller Intern will support the Finance team in tracking production costs, preparing regular financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards across manufacturing operations. This role offers hands‑on exposure to factory finance, cost analysis, and month‑end closing activities, helping you develop a solid foundation in cost management.

Key responsibilities

• Track, monitor and analyse production costs including labour, overhead, materials and other manufacturing expenses.
• Identify cost variances, investigate discrepancies and support accurate cost allocation.
• Prepare regular financial and performance reports to aid business decision‑making.
• Maintain product pricing and cost data in financial systems.
• Process and post cycle‑count adjustments to keep inventory records accurate.
• Assist with month‑end closing, including preparation and posting of journal entries.
• Reconcile financial and operational data to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Participate in cost‑optimization initiatives by analysing trends and highlighting improvement areas.
• Support internal‑control submissions and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Good understanding of basic accounting and financial principles.
• Effective communication and organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or similar financial platforms.
