Cost Controller – Mechanical Projects for Oil & Gas (SD/TA)

About the role

We are looking for a Cost Controller to oversee mechanical projects in the oil & gas sector, focusing on shutdowns, turnarounds and EPC contracts. The role ensures project costs stay within approved budgets and provides timely financial insights to management.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and update cost estimates, comparing scope, quantities and cost data against forecasts and budgets.
• Organise, control and report project costs, maintaining up‑to‑date forecasts and expenditure plans.
• Coordinate with HR, payroll, accounting and finance to guarantee accurate cost tracking.
• Alert management when forecasts exceed budgets and recommend corrective actions.
• Use statistical tools for cost metric analysis and risk assessment.
• Prepare monthly cost‑engineering reports and extract data for management dashboards.
• Participate in project meetings with clients and support contract negotiations.
• Review claims, change orders and support the preparation of cost portions for shutdown/turnaround and EPC contracts.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering or Finance/Accounting degree from a recognised university; Master’s or MBA is a plus.
• 6‑8 years of costing and budgeting experience in the oil & gas sector, particularly for shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX 365.
