Credit Control & Collection Specialist

About the role

Amana Cooperative Insurance Co. is seeking a proactive Credit Control & Collection Specialist to manage and optimise the credit lifecycle of its customers, brokers and intermediaries. The role focuses on ensuring timely payments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting regulatory reporting within the insurance sector.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor customer, broker and intermediary accounts to ensure compliance with approved credit terms.
• Follow up on outstanding balances through calls, emails and official correspondence.
• Issue payment reminders and periodic account statements.
• Track ageing receivables and escalate overdue accounts when required.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve invoice and payment disputes.
• Support repayment plan negotiations as needed.
• Prepare and maintain accurate ageing and collection reports.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of collection activities and customer communications.
• Assist with management and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Recommend accounts for provision or write‑off in line with company policies.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit control procedures and applicable regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, collections or a similar role.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services sector is preferred.
• Good understanding of receivables ageing, credit risk and collection processes.
• Familiarity with the regulatory environment applicable to insurance companies.
• Experience using ERP/accounting systems such as Oracle or SAP.
