About the role
Join IKEA’s store team as a Customer Exchange & Returns Associate. You will be the first point of contact for shoppers who need to exchange or refund items, ensuring a smooth and friendly experience that encourages repeat visits.
Key responsibilities
- Process exchange and refund transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining high customer‑service standards.
- Handle complaints and claims with empathy, turning challenging situations into positive outcomes.
- Keep the Exchange & Returns desk stocked with necessary documents, tools, and product parts.
- Assist customers with product assembly issues and provide replacement components when needed.
- Follow cash‑handling procedures and use the Exchange & Refund system to identify product faults or sales issues.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transaction reports for reconciliation.
- Communicate IKEA’s generous refund policy clearly to customers.
Required profile
- Previous customer‑service experience in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in handling complaints.
- Ability to stay calm and assertive with emotional or stressed customers.
- Patience and conflict‑resolution experience to achieve win‑win outcomes.
