Customer Exchange & Returns Associate

About the role

Join IKEA’s store team as a Customer Exchange & Returns Associate. You will be the first point of contact for shoppers who need to exchange or refund items, ensuring a smooth and friendly experience that encourages repeat visits.

Key responsibilities

• Process exchange and refund transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining high customer‑service standards.
• Handle complaints and claims with empathy, turning challenging situations into positive outcomes.
• Keep the Exchange & Returns desk stocked with necessary documents, tools, and product parts.
• Assist customers with product assembly issues and provide replacement components when needed.
• Follow cash‑handling procedures and use the Exchange & Refund system to identify product faults or sales issues.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transaction reports for reconciliation.
• Communicate IKEA’s generous refund policy clearly to customers.

Required profile

• Previous customer‑service experience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and confidence in handling complaints.
• Ability to stay calm and assertive with emotional or stressed customers.
• Patience and conflict‑resolution experience to achieve win‑win outcomes.
