Customer Reliability Engineer

About the role

The Customer Reliability Engineer will work on‑site with John Crane’s external customers, performing failure analyses and reliability assessments of rotating equipment, especially sealing systems. The role combines technical troubleshooting, root‑cause investigations and direct support for product installation and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reliability analyses of customer rotating equipment, focusing on sealing system performance and optimisation.
• Lead and support root cause analysis investigations using Fault Tree, Ishikawa, Apollo RCA and other structured methods, including data collection, reporting and presentation of findings.
• Conduct field troubleshooting, develop corrective actions and implement solutions in collaboration with customer teams.
• Provide technical support for seal installation, commissioning, inspection and equipment measurements on customer sites.
• Ensure all activities comply with John Crane standards, quality requirements and safety policies while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience with rotating equipment and sealing systems, including maintenance, reliability and asset performance improvement in industrial plant environments.
