Data Center Planner

About the role

The Data Center Planner will oversee 24x7 shift teams in a Saudi Arabian data centre, ensuring adequate staffing, capacity planning, and compliance with standards. The role combines operational coordination, vendor interaction, and technical troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform capacity planning and verify that new deployments meet required specifications.
• Prepare racking diagrams, assign tasks to shifts, and supervise racking activities.
• Manage shift schedules for Data Center Operations and coordinate on‑call rotations.
• Liaise with OSP/ISP teams for inter‑building connectivity.
• Maintain the Data Center Asset Register and oversee vendor management.
• Break/fix Windows/Linux servers, coordinating hardware replacement with vendors.
• Monitor facility security, HVAC, fire detection, temperature, humidity, and critical power systems.
• Ensure compliance with TIA‑942 standards for copper and fiber cabling.
• Control visitor access and enforce security procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Electrical/Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in data‑center environments.
• Proven experience with APC infrastructure and data‑center hardware.
