Digital Infra Planning Director

About the role

Mace is seeking a Digital Infra Planning Director to lead the planning of digital infrastructure for one of the largest mixed‑use programmes in Saudi Arabia. The role combines construction expertise with telecom and smart‑city planning to ensure seamless delivery of fiber, mobile, data‑center and other digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day planning coordination for digital infrastructure packages, establishing baselines, phasing logic, sequencing and critical interfaces.
• Lead demand forecasting and capacity planning for fiber, mobile coverage, data‑center/edge capacity, smart‑city use cases and resilience requirements.
• Coordinate planning interfaces with design, construction, utilities, authorities and external consultants such as SEC, NWC, CST, MOMRAH, SDAIA, MNOs, TowerCo and FiberCo.
• Review and validate planning submissions including fiber routes, tower siting, duct‑bank layouts, right‑of‑way requirements and redundancy paths.
• Track progress against approved baselines, report variances, manage risks and support escalation to the Planning Director.
• Support governance forums by preparing dashboards, risk registers, decision papers and planning approval recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with standards, cybersecurity, sustainability targets and operational readiness requirements.
• Mentor planning engineers and coordinators, promote best practices and maintain planning trackers.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in digital infrastructure planning within large‑scale construction or telecom projects.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on demand forecasting, capacity planning and risk management.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with authorities, operators and consultants.
