Director of Information & Technology

About the role

The Director of Information & Technology leads the technology function for a large property or a portfolio of properties, ensuring that all IT services support the guest experience and business objectives. This senior position works closely with property management and regional leadership to acquire, implement, and manage technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as on‑site project manager for new systems and upgrades, planning, budgeting, and coordinating multi‑vendor projects.
• Ensure compliance with Marriott International policies, information security standards, and vendor contracts.
• Evaluate technology needs, manage asset life‑cycles, and certify software applications for property use.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for technology assets.
• Provide second‑level support, troubleshoot performance issues, and mentor junior technical staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or equivalent experience.
• 5‑7 years of experience in a similar IT leadership role.
• Previous management experience with demonstrated matrix‑management skills.
• System‑related professional certifications are preferred.

Required skills

• Network hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
• Desktop support, peripherals, and operating systems management.
• Knowledge of communications protocols and data communications.
• Experience with servers, virtualization, and enterprise applications (e.g., Marriott’s MARSHA, PMS, NGS, SFA).
