Director of Viaduct, Stations and Tunnels

About the role

The Director of Viaduct, Stations and Tunnels (VST) will lead the client‑side delivery of the design‑and‑build civil infrastructure package for a new metro railway programme in the Qiddiya development, just outside Riyadh. Reporting to senior project leadership, you will be responsible for planning, integrated design, construction, testing, commissioning, handover and operational readiness of viaducts, stations, tunnels, shafts and related works.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of all VST civil infrastructure works, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, budget, quality and safety objectives.
• Oversee contractor performance, construction progress, risk management and change control.
• Manage complex interfaces between civil works, systems, rolling stock, utilities, existing infrastructure and third‑party stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with government entities, regulatory authorities, utility providers and developers.
• Ensure construction aligns with approved designs, operational requirements and asset handover targets.
• Support testing, commissioning, operational readiness and transition to the future operator/maintainer.
• Provide executive reporting and governance on programme status.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading large‑scale civil infrastructure programmes, preferably in metro or railway projects.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and manage high‑visibility stakeholder relationships.
• Strong track record of delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision‑making skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of civil engineering design and construction for viaducts, tunnels and stations.
• Understanding of railway systems integration and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in risk management, change control and contract administration.
