DPI Performance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a DPI Performance Engineer to monitor, analyse, troubleshoot and optimise Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) platforms and related network services. The role works closely with core, IP, gateway and service‑delivery teams to ensure platform health, accurate traffic classification and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor DPI platform metrics such as CPU, memory, throughput, PPS, sessions and subscriber capacity.
• Analyse application traffic, classification accuracy and traffic trends, investigating spikes, drops or abnormal behaviour.
• Track service‑quality indicators including latency, RTT, packet loss and connectivity.
• Maintain performance dashboards, KPI/KQI reports and threshold alerts.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for service degradation and correlate issues across Core, IP, BNG/UPF, IGW, PCRF/PCF, OCS and AAA domains.
• Perform traffic‑growth forecasting and capacity planning, recommending expansion or optimisation actions.
• Execute pre‑ and post‑change performance analysis for upgrades, migrations and configuration changes.
• Collaborate with DPI vendors on advanced troubleshooting and automate reporting where possible.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of relevant telecom or network performance experience.
• Strong understanding of DPI concepts, platform architecture and traffic‑classification techniques.
• Solid knowledge of IP networking, TCP/IP, QoS and core service domains (BNG, UPF, PCRF/PCF, OCS, AAA, IGW).
• Proven ability to analyse large data sets and perform KPI/KQI analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux and common network troubleshooting tools.
