Emerging Technologies Director

About the role

The Emerging Technologies Director leads the Emerging Technologies Department, building and operating structured innovation, laboratory, and validation capabilities. The role ensures emerging and next‑generation technologies are technically feasible, ready, and aligned with the company’s technology strategies before large‑scale deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and run an innovation and laboratory framework to turn technology strategies and standards into validated proofs of concept, pilots, devices, and tested solutions.
• Design, build, and manage specialized labs, testbeds, and isolated pre‑production environments for experimentation, interoperability, resilience, security testing, and performance benchmarking.
• Generate, evaluate, and experiment with emerging technologies and devices to support future service enhancements.
• Execute structured proof‑of‑concept and pilot activities, validating new technologies against defined technical success criteria and operational requirements.
• Provide technical readiness assessments, lab validation reports, and evidence‑based recommendations for technology planning and architecture decisions.
• Ensure all lab activities align with approved technology strategies, architectures, network standards, and security, resilience, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with vendors, device manufacturers, ecosystem partners, and research institutions to enable controlled technology trials and innovation partnerships.
• Support the transition of validated technologies from lab to delivery and operational teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 84 months (7 years) of experience in emerging technologies, technology validation, or related fields.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex innovation projects.
