Engineer, Project Planning (Water)

About the role

The Engineer, Project Planning (Water) is responsible for evaluating capital expenditure (CAPEX) requests for potable and process water service lines, conducting scouting and feasibility studies, and ensuring alignment with Marafiq procedures and Royal Commission standards. The role supports both new and existing customers across Yanbu and other industrial locations.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate CAPEX requests and Utility Approval Requests (UAR) in accordance with Marafiq procedures.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to perform scouting and feasibility studies, including cost benchmarking and techno‑commercial evaluation.
• Prepare and review preliminary designs, risk assessments, and project schedules with stakeholders.
• Upload project documentation to SAP‑IM and hand over conceptual packages to Project Engineering.
• Prioritize CAPEX based on financial indices, project risks, and strategic objectives.
• Participate in site‑selection processes with the Royal Commission and coordinate utility demand assessments for industrial and commercial customers.

Required profile

• Experience evaluating CAPEX requests for water utilities.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams through scouting and feasibility phases.
• Familiarity with Marafiq procedures, Royal Commission guidelines, and SAP‑IM documentation.
• Strong analytical skills for cost estimation, risk assessment, and schedule development.
