Engineering Manager – Utility‑Scale Projects

About the role
ENGIE is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead all technical and engineering aspects of utility‑scale projects in the Middle East. The role will act as the single technical authority throughout design, construction, and commissioning, ensuring delivery of high‑quality, compliant facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate basic and detailed engineering design reviews with the Owner’s Engineer, EPC contractors, Project Company, and O&M team.
- Review and approve BOP & OEM engineering deliverables for compliance with specifications, grid codes, safety standards, and ENGIE requirements.
- Define and validate system architecture, protection schemes, auxiliary systems, and control philosophy.
- Perform system sizing, configuration, redundancy, and layout studies to meet performance and lifecycle targets.
- Oversee grid‑integration engineering and support procurement through technical evaluation of vendor offers.
- Manage technical interfaces between BOP contractors, OEMs, grid operators, consultants, and authorities.
- Monitor engineering progress, identify technical risks, maintain a risk register, and implement mitigation measures.
- Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and provide engineering support during installation, commissioning, testing, and performance validation.
Required profile
- Extensive experience managing engineering design and execution of utility‑scale energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of BOP and OEM engineering, grid codes, and safety standards.
- Proven ability to act as the technical authority across design, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Excellent risk‑management and interface‑coordination skills.
