English Language & Literature Teacher – IB World School (Jeddah)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic English Language and Literature Teacher to join our IB World School in Jeddah. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons to secondary students, develop critical thinking, and prepare learners for IB examinations while fostering a love of reading and writing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver curriculum‑aligned English Language and Literature lessons for IB DP and other secondary programmes.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and track progress.
• Organise literary projects, debates, drama productions and other extracurricular activities that deepen engagement with texts.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and support school initiatives.
• Maintain a classroom environment that is inclusive, culturally sensitive and student‑centred.

Required profile

• Degree in English or related subject with a PGCE and/or QTS.
• Proven experience teaching English Language and Literature at secondary level; IB DP experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to design creative, interactive lessons and extracurricular literary events.
• Adaptability to diverse cultural settings and commitment to inclusive teaching practices.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the International Baccalaureate English curriculum.
