Field Support Specialist (Freelance / Dispatch)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Freelance Field Support Specialist to provide on‑site IT assistance when full‑time engineers are unavailable or when dispatch activities require immediate support. The role involves hands‑on work with desktops, laptops, printers, AV equipment and other peripherals across our industrial facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site IT support for desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software according to organizational standards.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities for IT assets.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing break‑fix support.
• Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for repairs, replacements, and escalations.
• Manage IT inventory, asset tracking, and documentation.
• Create system images for laptops and desktops.
• Set up and troubleshoot printers and network printers.
• Assist with conference‑room AV setup and meeting‑room technologies.
• Provide high‑touch VIP/end‑user support and adhere to SLAs.
• Support Office 365, user accounts, and compliance/security software.
• Offer Mac device support alongside Windows environments.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and maintain knowledge‑base articles.
• Participate in after‑hours activities, events, and recurring meetings as needed.

• Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, DNS, LAN connectivity).
• Printer and network printer setup and troubleshooting.
• Office 365 support and general user account troubleshooting.
• System imaging for Windows and Mac devices.
• Compliance/security software installation and troubleshooting.
• IT asset inventory management and vendor coordination.
