Gateway Operations Supervisor

About the role

The Gateway Operations Supervisor leads a shift‑based team responsible for ensuring that inbound and outbound shipments move through the gateway efficiently, complying with network procedures and transit time standards. This role is central to maintaining high service quality and supporting the company’s global trade network.

Key responsibilities

• Organise shift patterns and staffing levels to meet operational demand.
• Oversee recovery, break‑bulk, inspection and clearance of incoming shipments for rapid processing.
• Manage receipt and lodgement of outbound shipments to guarantee timely departure and optimal loading.
• Monitor performance of ground handlers and warehouse providers, producing required reports.
• Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to quality policies such as ISO standards.
• Develop and track KPIs, conduct performance appraisals and drive a high‑performance service culture.
• Allocate resources to achieve global, regional and country objectives.
• Identify training needs and support skill development within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
• Deep understanding of customs operations, trade compliance and their financial impact.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of customs laws, GCC regulations and international trade agreements.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to build relationships with customs and internal teams.
• Proven leadership ability, influencing without direct authority.
• Strategic thinking aligned with business and regional objectives.

Required skills

• Customs broker certification or equivalent (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Analytical skills for performance monitoring and reporting.
