General Manager - Logistics & Transportation

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a General Manager in Jeddah for a full-time position in the logistics and transportation sector. The role covers the overall direction of the organisation, from long-term strategy and operations oversight to financial performance and business expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a long-term strategy, set organisational goals and identify business units, strengths and weaknesses
• Oversee day-to-day operations, including budgets, resources and employees, and assign and track team goals and performance
• Monitor market and industry trends, and build relationships with customers, vendors and partners
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and analyse data and performance metrics to inform decisions
• Manage timelines, streamline operations, reduce costs and improve service delivery while maintaining high customer satisfaction
• Oversee the company's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
• Manage expansion into new business markets and look for new technologies that support the company and its divisions
• Oversee the administration and support functions department

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a General Manager in an event or hospitality company, or at director level
• Degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, transportation or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous
• Relevant certifications in transportation management, project management (PMP) or logistics are beneficial

Required skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Understanding of budgeting, financial reporting and cost control in transportation services
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, negotiate contracts and communicate with clients, employees and regulatory bodies
• Strong verbal and written communication, quick decision-making and effective time management
