Governance & Compliance Expert Consultant

About the role

Master Works is looking for a senior Governance & Compliance Expert Consultant to lead the implementation of data governance and personal data protection practices across the client organization. The role involves establishing frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and safeguarding both organizational and personal data.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data governance and privacy policies, standards and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with personal data protection regulations and internal governance requirements.
• Conduct data classification activities and privacy impact assessments.
• Monitor data quality, security controls and governance practices throughout the organization.
• Support audits, compliance reviews and regulatory assessments.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify, assess and mitigate data‑related risks.
• Promote awareness of data governance and privacy through training initiatives.
• Prepare governance, compliance and privacy reports and related documentation.
• Lead and manage governance and privacy initiatives, delegating tasks to team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in data governance, data privacy or related disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of data protection regulations, privacy requirements and governance frameworks.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams.
• Experience working in regulated or government environments.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
