Head of Safety and Security Operations

About the role

We are looking for an internationally proven Head of Safety & Security Operations to design and implement the safety, security and counter‑measure master plan for large‑scale mega‑events in Saudi Arabia. The role will be established at the inception phase and will act as the primary liaison between Sela and the Kingdom’s public security ministries.

Key responsibilities

• Design the comprehensive Security Master Plan, including perimeter protection, vehicle vetting, access‑control automation and cyber‑physical security integration.
• Partner with architects and transport planners to model crowd dynamics, define venue capacities, design secure queuing lanes and mitigate crowd‑crush hazards.
• Author emergency response, business continuity and mass‑evacuation procedures for extreme weather, structural failures, cyber breaches or active threats.
• Serve as Sela’s security diplomat, coordinating with the Ministry of Interior, Civil Defense, Riyadh Police, State Security and VVIP protection units.
• Plan and execute secure movement profiles for heads of state, royal delegations and international dignitaries.
• Build, procure and manage a scaled security force to deliver operational command and crisis governance.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading safety and security programmes for tier‑1 international mega‑events such as World Expos, Olympic Games, FIFA World Cups or G20 summits.
• Demonstrated ability to design security architecture, conduct threat modelling and implement risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Strong diplomatic skills to interface with government ministries and international delegations.
• Executive‑level leadership capable of overseeing large, multi‑disciplinary security teams.
