HSE Officer

About the role

The HSE Officer ensures health, safety and environmental standards are implemented and maintained across site operations, driving a strong safety culture and compliance with legal and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify and control hazards.
• Implement and monitor HSE plans, procedures and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes and follow up on corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and safety training for staff and subcontractors.
• Prepare HSE reports, maintain accurate safety records and coordinate emergency preparedness including drills.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of HSE experience, preferably in facilities management, construction or large‑scale operations.
• Recognised HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or OSHA.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of local HSE regulations and international standards such as ISO 45001.
• Strong ability to conduct risk assessments and develop permit‑to‑work systems.
