International Mechanic – Saudi Arabia

About the role

The International Mechanic is responsible for the mechanical safety and integrity of operations on H&P rigs in Saudi Arabia. The role ensures continuous, safe functioning of mechanical equipment, leads maintenance initiatives and provides training and coaching to staff.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safe mechanical operation of drill rigs, related equipment and personnel.
• Evaluate mechanical problems, conduct corrective actions and perform safety inspections.
• Repair, adjust and maintain mechanical components to meet equipment and H&P standards.
• Install new equipment, retrofits and upgrades, confirming proper operation.
• Order and stock mechanical parts, coordinating preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Lead job‑related JSA and Compass Card meetings.
• Maintain service reports in the E.A.M. system and stay current with Workday trainings.
• Demonstrate core H&P safety values and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and legislation.

Required profile

• Ability to use the Permitted Operations Management System (POMS) and enter detailed reports into the E.A.M. system.
• Strong prioritisation, advanced troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience completing preventative maintenance procedures promptly.
• Commitment to compliance with H&P policies, local and federal statutory obligations.
• Capability to implement safety and security measures and provide regular updates to site management.
• Willingness to learn relevant legislation, drilling and electrical standards, and HSE requirements.
• Demonstrated adherence to H&P values: care, service attitude, innovation, teamwork and integrity.
