IT Monitoring Center – Network Monitoring Specialist

About the role

The IT Monitoring Center – Network Monitoring Specialist is responsible for continuously monitoring the data center and enterprise network to ensure performance, availability, and security. The role requires rapid response to alerts, thorough incident analysis, and close collaboration with other IT teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor data‑center and enterprise network traffic, bandwidth usage, latency and detect anomalies.
• Respond promptly to alerts, troubleshoot incidents and resolve network problems.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis, implement corrective actions and minimise downtime.
• Log incidents in the Incident Management System and follow the escalation matrix.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of network configurations, monitoring procedures and performance statistics.
• Generate performance and security reports for internal auditing and compliance.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering or related field.
• 1–2 years of practical networking experience gained through projects, internships or entry‑level roles.
• CompTIA Network+ and Cisco CCNA certifications (both required).
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to network‑related incidents.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new networking technologies.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewalls.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios or Zabbix.
• Basic understanding of data‑center networking components and enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in incident logging, documentation and reporting.
