Java Backend Engineer

About the role

Network International is looking for a Java Backend Engineer to join its fast‑paced financial services team. You will collaborate with cross‑functional experts to design, build and maintain high‑performance backend services that power our payment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Architect and implement RESTful microservices with high availability and performance.
• Model, optimize and persist data in MongoDB and MySQL databases.
• Implement authentication and authorization using Spring Security.
• Build data access layers with Spring Data JPA and MongoDB repositories.
• Develop caching strategies using Redis or similar technologies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies: planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with DevOps and QA to ensure effective CI/CD pipelines and test automation.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers and enforce coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON and HTTP protocols.
• Experience working in Scrum or Kanban environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
