Laboratory Technician (Laborant) – Road & Infrastructure Projects

About the role

IC İçtaş Construction is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician (Laborant) to lead quality control and testing activities for its road and infrastructure project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves overseeing the on‑site construction laboratory, ensuring accurate material testing and compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory and field tests on soil, aggregates, concrete and asphalt according to project specifications and standards such as AASHTO and ASTM.
• Conduct systematic on‑site sampling of raw materials and fresh concrete/asphalt for representative testing.
• Record, calculate and document all test data in standardized formats, maintaining audit‑ready laboratory logs.
• Maintain and assist in the calibration of laboratory testing equipment and measuring instruments.
• Report non‑conformities immediately to the QA/QC Manager and manage sample labeling, storage and tracking.
• Coordinate testing schedules with site engineers and batching plants to align with daily construction progress.
• Ensure a clean, safe laboratory environment and adhere to site health‑and‑safety protocols.
• Support the preparation of daily and weekly quality reports for project accountability.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science or a related technical field.
• 20+ years of quality‑control experience in construction and infrastructure projects.
• At least 10 years of hands‑on experience in construction site laboratories, including material testing and supervision.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Detail‑oriented, disciplined approach to test accuracy, compliance and documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite for reporting and record‑keeping.
