Lead Auditor – Real Estate Tax Audits

About the role

The Lead Auditor will oversee real estate tax audit activities, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, accounting standards and internal policies. This senior position requires a strong analytical mindset to resolve complex audit issues and guide audit teams.

Key responsibilities

• Stay current with real estate tax regulations, GAAP and audit standards.
• Develop, update and maintain valuation templates and audit tools to support timely transaction audits.
• Maintain audit manuals, eligibility criteria and legal requirements, integrating them into computer‑aided audit systems.
• Classify and prioritize audit schedules for SME real estate transactions and assign them to appropriate audit teams.
• Verify the validity of legal documents, ensure completeness of declarations and assess tax liabilities.
• Collect data for office audits, liaise with account managers, banks, government bodies and legal affairs.
• Analyze real estate transactions, trace records from source documents to accounting entries and resolve discrepancies with the Regional Audit Team.
• Identify high‑risk and non‑compliant cases, communicate findings to internal stakeholders to mitigate tax‑evasion risks.
• Conduct field audit visits, investigate records and advise on regulatory obligations, penalties and rights.
• Consolidate legal and financial observations to recommend audit responsibilities for real estate transfers.

Required profile

• Experienced professional capable of working with general direction and solving escalated audit challenges.
• In‑depth knowledge of real estate tax systems, accounting principles and audit standards.
