About the role

We are seeking a Lead Engineer to drive the design and delivery of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role combines deep technical expertise with project leadership to ensure efficient, reliable, and safe energy storage solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design of BESS, including battery chemistry selection, duty‑cycling analysis, and performance optimisation (round‑trip efficiency, cycle life).
  • Develop and review detailed specifications, tender documents, FAT test plans and ensure compliance with quality, health and safety standards.
  • Perform system studies, hybrid renewable integration (solar PV, wind) and inverter design, coordinating with civil, instrumentation and CAD teams.
  • Provide on‑site technical advice during construction, manage vendor interactions and support commissioning activities.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis, value‑engineering and cost‑optimisation to deliver high‑performance designs.

Required profile

  • 8–12 years of engineering experience in battery energy storage or related renewable energy projects.
  • Proven track record delivering BESS projects in engineering or consulting environments.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to prepare technical specifications and conduct quality assurance reviews.
  • Excellent coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

  • Battery inverter systems and DC/DC converter operation.

  • Panel architecture, heat‑ventilation, temperature‑rise calculations.
  • Battery inverter logic (VAR mode, PF mode).
  • Root‑cause analysis and test‑plan development.
